Problem statement

A global leader in the mining and refining of gold had to extract ore from deep operating veins. When using a pressure leaching method on the ore, the valuable product was commingled with aggressive acids such as Sulfuric and Phosphoric acid at 230°F (110°C) and 580 psig (40 bar). The refiner wanted to gain maximum yield while neutralizing the acidic component.

Our team conceived of, designed and manufactured several venturi scrubber systems to directly treat the effluent gasses from the pressure leaching vessel and several flash vessels from multiple trains.

Basic statistics:High efficiency venturi scrubber systems, each of total flow of 28,500 kg./hr of super-heated steam ( 62,500 lbs./hr.)
